At Village Knittery we strive to offer the best instruction and a variety of classes.  
All classes are limited up to six people unless otherwise specified. Please call or come in to sign up for classes prior to start date.
If a class is canceled by a teacher you will be refunded.  


Summer Class Descriptions:

Intermediate Skills:  Each class Caryn will teach a new skill and have your make a sample with this new skill.  Int. cables, lace, mosaic, intarsia, fair isle, and enterlac are just a few things you will cover. And then pick your own project and get help during class.
2 hours on going  $50.00 per month or $15.00 for a single class
Tuesday evenings   7 - 9 pm
Friday afternoons  1 - 3


Lace: This is a series of 4 classes.  Our first class will be a simple Lace Scarf, our next a small triangle shawl, then a circular shawl and the last will be your choice.  we will try different yarns for each project.  We will also learn to read graphs, new cast on and bind off methods, how to "read" our stitches and know exactly where we are in a pattern, and many other skills to help you in your everyday knitting.
4 classes 2 hours each $25.00 per class included patterns and a help class  1 -3 pm
June 30th, July 28th, August 25th, &  September 29th

On going Classes:

Projects: Come in and work on a project of your choice.  Caryn will be there to answer questions and help with some advanced concepts.  This class is on going.  We require that you sign up for at least 4 classes at a time.  You can use them at your convince. $10.00 per session

Beginning Knitting:  Learn the basics.  Casting on, knit stitch, purl stitch, binding off.   2 sessions 4 hours $40.00

Beginning Crochet: Learn how to crochet.  Chain stitch, single  crochet, half double, and double crochet stitches.

Kids and Parents Learn to Knit:  This class is geared especially toward children.  They will learn to knit and bind off.  They will make a bracelet or Head band.  1 1/2 hours  $30.00

Beginning/Intermediate: Continuation of Beg. Knitting. Learn to increase and decrease, yarn over.  You will learn how to read a patten and make a Sampler Hat. 4 weeks  $80.00

Intermediate Projects: Take your beginning skills and start making something other than a scarf!  Make a large felted tote bag, cabled scarf, multicolored hat and felted oven mitt.  8 weeks 2 hour sessions  $100.00

Beginning Sweaters:  Caryn has a variety of easy sweaters for you to choose from. Learn the basics of sweater making.  Increasing and decreasing. Picking up & buttonholes. Sewing the seam together. You will be a pro when you end this class. 10 classes 2 hours sessions $125.00
Monday July 21st 7 - 9 pm

Top Down Sweaters: This Sweater class will teach you how to complete a sweater from the neck down. It is knitted in almost one piece.
Includes your choice of several patterns.  $65.00
Monday's 8/4, 8/11, 8/18, 9/8, 9/22   11-1 pm

Felted Enterlac Basket: Beautiful big basket to hold all your yarns. Lear how to enter lac the easy way.ON BIG NEEDLES.

Socks Socks:  Socks are fun and rewarding.  Learn to knit a pair of socks.  
  Great for gifts and stocking stuffings for the holidays.

Friday July 11th  11 - 1 pm

Hand Dying Yarn: Creating your own colors is a very rewarding experience. Every project is unique.  In this class you will dye the yarn of your choosing.  We offer merino wool, cotton bucle, wool/silk blends, rayon, cotton and many other textures. Be prepared to get dirty, so wear old clothes.

Felted Slippers:  Fun for holiday gifts.  These slippers are fast and easy to make. They have a reinforced sole.

Lizard Ridge Afgahn: Beautiful pattern by Laura Aylor.  You will be an expert in Short Rowing.  You will learn to Knit back backwards ( so you don't have to turn the work) Each square in made with 1 ball of Noro Kureyon or any yarn the stripes.  1 session 2 hours.  Intermediate knitters.  $25.00

Techniques:  The a multitude of knitting techiques while making an incredible pathchwork blanket.  Learn cables, yarnovers, lace work and much much more.  There are 60 squares to choose from.
You can make your own unique blanket. 8 weeks $100.00
